Maryland Governor Wes Moore recently announced the state’s inaugural Governor’s Apprenticeship Pledge, a new initiative designed to highlight and celebrate employers who use Registered Apprenticeship programs to develop their workforce. What to Expect in the Apprenticeship Program
Our program is carefully designed to take apprentices through every stage of their professional development. Over four years, apprentices move through three levels of career progression:
- Fire Sprinkler Helper: Gain hands-on experience working alongside seasoned professionals and build your foundational skills.
- Fire Sprinkler Fitter: Step into a more advanced role, applying your training in greater depth and taking on increased responsibility.
- Fire Sprinkler Foreman: Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared to lead projects and supervise teams as a highly skilled fire protection professional.
This blended learning model ensures that apprentices receive both the technical expertise and leadership training required to excel in their careers.
Competitive Pay and Benefits
We value the hard work and commitment of our apprentices. Pay and benefits begin at $22.50 per hour and increase steadily throughout the program. Upon successful completion, graduates will earn $38 per hour. Every apprentice receives performance reviews every six months to track progress, recognize accomplishments, and ensure they’re on the right path to success.
Qualifications for Entry
To apply for the apprenticeship program, employees must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be employed with Chesapeake Sprinkler Company for a minimum of six months
- Pass a clean drug test and background check
- Hold a high school diploma or GED
